Event Details

Separate from the Mentoring Program, this one-day event is available to administrators beginning their first year in the superintendency.

Intended Outcomes:  Through participation in this institute, you will…

  1. Cultivate a professional learning network;

  2. Become familiar with the Iowa Department of Education’s priorities;

  3. Set the stage for a successful relationship with the Board;

  4. Prepare for an effective superintendent evaluation process; 

  5. Connect with AEA services and supports;

  6. Tap into the insight and expertise of superintendents who have completed their first or second year in the role;

  7. Reflect on strategies for an effective leadership-life fit; and

  8. Revisit typical beginning of the year legal issues.
