The Principal’s Partner

Take (or toss) these tips for building and sustaining an effective partnership with your principal.

1. Avoid the “I would have done it a different way” mentality. Work to see situations through your principal’s lens and help them to see what they may be missing.
2. Take initiative. Know and understand school improvement processes and change management and step up to lead with your own strengths. Discuss with your principal about where you best fit into this work—there is plenty to go around😊!
3. Build capacity together. How can you complement each other so you both look great together? The key is consistent communication and clarity of roles and responsibilities.
